As you might be knowing apple move has initiated issues in DRM system. The European court has asked apple to provide the license to make the music playable in all commercial players.
But Apple claim that rather adopting totally different DRM techniques, i would be better for all music giants to come under a common DRM system and sell thier music through itunes store.
So any break in the DRM system can be easily patched by apple in a couple of weaks and give an end to the music piracy.
The strategy is gonna give apple to own the great share on music and putting pirates to work even more harder to break the code. :-)
